About Us

“An Institution can only exist so long as it performs an essential function.”

Michael Stevenson ~ Founder of System Addict.

We here at System Addict are subscribers to the idea that we are all an integral part of an enormously intricate web of interrelated systems that support and balance themselves as a collective, each individual aspect being essential to the well-being of it’s counterparts and the whole. An entity at war with the system that sustains it suffers all attacks made against it. Our aim is to educate the public on the ever-expanding complexity of the world we live in and encourage participation in the systems that govern our environment and subsequently our experience of it. Rather than attacking the corruption, immoral intent, or more often than not – incompetence underlying our social ailments we seek only to bring awareness to these issues in order to facilitate the healing of the system for the benefit of all parties. Only by physically embodying the changes we wish to see in the world can we expect to experience them as a reality

Us vs. Them

Fewer things are more polarizing and stand in the way of true social progress than the “Us vs. Them” mentality. Especially in cases where “They” or “Them” is generalized to represent an oppressive force that is not identified or fully understood. Misguided anger and frustration can easily be turned or diverted even back on itself. True there may be groups in existence pursuing ideals that conflict with your own, but more effective than demonizing the non-tangible is doing the necessary research to trace the cause of your discomfort back to the source. An invisible enemy is one that cannot be defeated. The greatest revolutions in history have always been backed by an informed (albeit often enraged) public. We do not support acts of violence against people or property, nor do we condone attitudes of violence toward any person, group or institution. Our philosophy is that inclusiveness, understanding and cooperation are what lead to balance. We advise against any aggressive or condemning statements or actions without first performing due research. And we stand firm and confident in the knowledge that wisdom can and will set us free.
